Need A Last Minute Halloween Treat?

Happy Halloween!

Today I am sharing a quick and easy treat bag for last minute classroom, teacher, or other little ghostie gifties you might need. Or bookmark it and use it for next year! It's fun and quick and even my 19 year old loved it to make and give to her college friends at their costume party.

SPOOKY S'MORES! The ingredients are easy! Two graham cracker squares, 1 individually wrapped mini Hershey bar, and a ghost Peep! Bag 'em all together, add some adorable ribbon and a cute tag, and you are good to go! The recipient can microwave them for a delicious yummy treat~

Make sure your ghost is in the front! :)

I used three different ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon: Satin Swiss Dots Tangerine, Diamond Satin Grape, and Shimmer Satin Apple with Silver.
The best part? I got them all in the September Ribbon Club! So I had exactly what ribbon I needed for this project all in one place! If you haven't joined the Ribbon Club, you need to do it today! Tell Bonnie I sent you :)

If you would like to see close-ups of my cute tags from Whimsie Doodles, come visit my blog: Joy in a JAR. Thanks for stopping by and save some candy for me!

Hurricane Sandy Update for Really Reasonable Ribbon

This is the second post of the day.  Be sure to scroll down so you don't miss the fun project Keri Lee has shared with us today.

Thanks so much to everyone for the well wishes and great suggestions for weathering the storm.  We came through with no problems other than a few trees down and what is looking to be a long-term power outage.  We are prepared however, and we are running on a generator until the power is restored.

We are back to business as usual here at Really Reasonable Ribbon and the only thing you need to keep in mind is that with some airports in the area either shut or with limited service, packages in transit may take an extra day or two through the end of this week.

Quick and Easy Holiday Gift Ideas...

We all need them, don't we??? Well I know you think those "holiday gift giving times" are far off in the future...I mean, come on, Thanksgiving isn't even here yet, RIGHT?? Right, however, taking the time to start prepping cute little QUICK & EASY handmade gifts NOW will save you so much frustration later!! So as my final project as a guest designer for Really Reasonable Ribbon, I thought I would share with one of my "go to, quick & easy" gift ideas. :
A Double Chocolate Mint Cocoa Gift Kit.

As you can see the ingredients are simple and relatively inexpensive. Two packages of cocoa, a baggie filled with chocolate chips, and four starlight mints (or two candy canes but I didn't have any on hand yet - I refuse to buy them until November - atleast!!!!).

So to begin you slip all of your kit ingredients into your clear bag. See how cute my mints look all lined up?? ***TIP: Use a bit of adhesive or a glue dot and STICK THEM TO THE COCOA PACKET!!!! :) Keeps 'em looking all cute and in a line!!!

Once you have placed all your kit ingredients into your bag you seal it up and make a paper topper. To do that simply cut a piece of cute paper 3" x the width plus 1/4" of your clear bag. So my bag was 6 1/4" wide, I cut my paper 3" x 6 1/2". Fold it in half and staple it over the top of the clear bag. Next the fun part - EMBELLISHING!!!

As you can see, I have used two different types of ribbon here. I first wrapped a length of Ivory Grosgrain around the bottom edge of the paper topper and glued it in place. I then layered on a cute red printed ribbon from October's Monthly Ribbon Club Pack and then glued it in place. And then I tied my bow using the Ivory Grosgrain again with the help of the hand dandy Bow Easy Tool.

And you know me and my fetish for embellishments....it was cute with the dual ribbons and the bow but oh why not throw a totally cute Snowman Button from Buttons Galore & More onto the center of the bow for that perfect finishing touch? :)

I have really enjoyed my time designing for Really Reasonable Ribbon and I hope you have enjoyed the array of different projects I have brought you this month. Remember, it's always better with a bit of ribbon!!!

a little someone new

Hi everyone!  Corri here with a cute baby card to show you today.
I cut this cute little giraffe with my Cameo.
I used some cute paper  from Echo Park - Paradise Beach.
I found the burlap ATC at Michaels...I think it makes a cute background for my cute little giraffe.
I added a bow with pretty some lace blue seam binding.

You can read more on my blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hurricane Sandy will be visiting RRR

This is the second post of the day.  Please be sure to scroll down so you don't miss the fun project Emily shared with us today.

Greetings everyone.  Well, it appears that Really Reasonable Ribbon is in the direct path of Hurricane Sandy (aka Frankenstorm) which will be making an unwelcome visit really soon.  We have been told to expect possible power outages beginning Monday 10/29 for up to 14 days.  We are located in an area that is not prone to flooding, so power outages are likely to be our biggest concern.

Yup, we are located in the red zone - about an hour and a half north of
New York City.

We have made every effort to prepare so there will be no interruption in our daily order processing.  We have a generator on stand-by and two possibilities for internet access.  That being said, if our local internet supplier and our cellular service is down at the same time, we may have intermittent difficulties with our internet access.

We will make every effort to continue shipping incoming orders the same or next day, but we appreciate your understanding if we do have problems over the next 10-14 days.  You will still be able to place orders throughout this time, but there may be a possible delay in shipment of orders and in our response to email questions.  I will keep you posted via this blog when the storm has passed though.

Thanks so much everyone and have a great weekend!

Victorian Birdhouse Card

Hello everyone, Cheryl here with a post for Really Reasonable Ribbon using lots of Ribbons and laces here on my card today.

I decided to do a shabby chic type card here. I guess I have had enough of halloween. hehehehehehee

So on my card I used some Satins, Gingham, Lace's and Leaves all from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I used the lace to make a couple of flowers here. I also used the satin and gingham to make roses. I ran some White Crocheted Lace 1.5" down the side and then added my flowers, buttons, leaves, and pearl swirly do on top.

My little Bird house is a CottageCutz die, and is dusted with Tim Holtz inks. I love this lil' birdhouse, and thought it was super cute!

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Naughty or Nice?

Well, this post is bittersweet for me, it's my last post with RRR. I have enjoyed my time here tremendously and am happy to have made some new and lasting scrappy friends! The new DT will keep inspiring us and I will still be visiting all the time! Thank you to Bonnie and the entire team!

I am in the Christmas spirit and thought I would use some of the ribbon from Christmas Sheer with Satin Center assortment. This ribbon is just perfect for any Christmas project that you have planned!

I used MOXXIE Party at the Pole paper and diecuts. I also added some Baker's Twine in Cherry, just a few little bows!!! I made the candy pieces by just drawing circles and using my Zig markers. I added a little bit of the sparkle with "Wink of Stella" by Zig too. I added the little Baker's Twine bows to the center of a few.

Here is a close up of the double bow, where I used the red and white ribbon from the assortment. It looks so festive together!

Here is another closeup of the little candy pieces with the Baker's Twine. I had so much fun playing with this page! I'm going to get a head start on my Christmas cards with some of this ribbon too!

Well, thank you so much for stopping by, and thank you for all the sweet comments you've left on my posts over my term here! I have really enjoyed working with these gorgeous ribbons and trim. I will continue to buy them now, I am totally hooked!!! Don't forget to come back by to see what else the DT has in store!!!

Magic and Wonder

Happy Hump Day to you all!
I don't know about all of you, but I am soooo ready for the holiday season to get here!
I have been listening to Christmas music lately and sucking on peppermint sticks as I create.  LOL
I have been so very inspired that I created a whimsical holiday layout page featuring my daughter and her BFF from last Christmas.

I used acrylic paints to paint the die cut tree and sprinkled it with glitter...then...For the gift package, I used red acrylic paint for the bow along with bakers twine tied over a  red button from the cherries Jubilee collection.
I hand cut these stockings and I added a touch of crochet lace to the tops and inked edges.

I fell totally in love with the effect that I was able to achieve using this layout.  These two girls in this layout are both also wearing a big ol'e bow made from Bonnie's beautiful ribbons...just thought I'd throw that in there!  LOL
Thank you for visiting me today!  Have a WONDERFUL week!

Pretty presents......

Hi there! Tuesday is here and it is my day to share a tutorial with you! So excited!   I have seen such cute cards all tied up with ribbons that look like a wrapped present so I decided to try my own version.
The first pic shows the slit I made half way up the length of the card on the left side so that I could slide my horizontal ribbons through .  I used a exacto knife for my slit, don't worry if it isn't perfect the ribbon covers it up.    I just wrapped the gingham ribbon through and glued it down. That took care of my ribbon that runs side to side. From there I wrapped the up and down ribbons all the way around (as shown in the pic) and tied my bow.
From there I had fun adding my embellishments and sentiment. I added some crochet lace to the bottom and used the sweetest christmas twine to tie my tag on. Love that this card is really so simple but the ribbon really makes it special! Hope you enjoy! Hugs, cherry

ribbons used- emerald gingham , Penelope lace , Christmas twine

Hop-py Birthday for a Cause

Did you know that Really Reasonable Ribbon is a sponsor for the Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling To card drive? It's a month-long card drive for Breast Cancer Awareness and there are prizes valued at over $6500 up for grabs!

This design today was made for one of the challenges. You have until November 7 to join in and be eligible for some of those crafty prizes!

For this challenge we were to use the letters "HYCCT" and have something on our card that represented or started with each letter (keep reading!). I chose Chicken Girl Design's Birthday Wishes for my images.
I stamped on X-Press Copic Blending Cardstock with Memento Black ink, and then colored with Copic markers. My designer paper is from the Everyday Eclectic Collection by Echo Park.

The sweet Light Celery Green crocheted lace and Cotton Candy Pink baker's twine finish off the card, along with some aqua gems in my stash. My layers are popped up using Zva Adhesive Dimensional Squares.
And here is what I chose for the letters:
H - Hop-py Birthday sentiment
Y - YG Copic markers for balloon
C - corner rounder
C - Celery Green crocheted lace
T - twine

Come take part in a wonderful cause -- you might win one of the awesome prizes sponsored by Bonnie at RRR!

Celebrate The Moment!

Hi there! I am having a blast guest designing for Really Reasonable Ribbon this month. I use ribbon on nearly every card or project I create so how could I not be having fun!!!???

Today's card is simple but FUN! This month is the last month for the CPS Card Sketch blog and so I figured I would share my "farewell card" here as well.  I love using RRR Grosgrain Ribbon. It ties BEAUTIFULLY. It's weight is great for keeping the shape of the bows loops and tails just the way I want them. I used the Ivory Grosgrain today with just a bit of Hemp and a fun Coconut Shell Button from Buttons Galore & More. Sometimes layering your embellishments like I have here with the ribbon, the hemp and the button adds the oomph the final project really needs! What are your favorite embellishments to layer?

Have a Spooky Day

Hi everyone!  I have a pretty Halloween gift set to show you today.

I used files from SVG Cuts to create the card and gift bag.  The bag is large enough to hold some candy or other small gift. I tied the back closed with some purple grosgrain ribbon.

You can read more details about the files on used on my blog

Thanks so much for stopping by.
